Two Men and a Truck Nationwide Events Help Launch VA Duffel Bags

by | Dec 16, 2019

By 2020 Cheeriodicals will have delivered over 100,000 Big Green Boxes to hospitalized children and Veterans across the US and Canada. The delivery of those boxes (and the accompanying smiles) wouldn’t have been possible without our partnership with a very special moving company, Two Men and a Truck. Two Men and a Truck, also known as the “Movers Who Care”, offer their services to Cheeriodicals totally free of charge. Yep you read that right, totally and completely free of charge. After team builders assemble their Cheeriodicals, Two Men and a Truck comes to the event location to retrieve and then deliver the boxes to the children’s hospital or VA medical facility.

It’s rare to find a company that lives up to their motto as accurately as Two Men and a Truck. Calling themselves “Movers Who Care” isn’t something they take lightly. In fact, it’s something that has been woven into the DNA of Two Men and a Truck since it’s inception over 30 years ago. Two Men and a Truck’s founder, Mary Ellen Sheets, donated her first profits to 10 different charities, and that spirit of giving back has carried on ever since. In 2018 alone, Two Men and a Truck collectively donated over $3 million worth of moving services to people and organizations in need, even companies like Cheeriodicals!

Because of Two Men and a Truck, we are able to deliver our Big Green Boxes of Cheer all over the country. After partnering with Two Men and a Truck for over 8 years, we came up with the idea of taking part in a nationwide Cheeriodicals and Two Men and a Truck event. Over the course of several weeks, Cheeriodicals Event Specialists coordinated with Two Men and a Truck offices across the country and helped their teams assemble over 540 duffel bags for hospitalized Veterans.

These events were extra special because we premiered our brand new VA Duffle Bags. Over time, we started to notice how some of our Veterans had a need for a more practical bag to take their personal items to and from the hospital, so in came the duffel bag. These bags consist of the same items included in our VA box, but instead of being given to the Veterans in our signature Big Green Box, they are delivered in a Big Green Duffel Bag! The duffel bag still features our signature green and also includes a message of encouragement for Veterans.

Partnerships with companies who value giving back as much as Two Men and a Truck, makes what we do possible. It’s because of this partnership that Two Men and a Truck was able to assemble and deliver 540 Cheeriodicals to VA Medical Centers across the US in November. Amazingly, they also helped us deliver over 2,400 boxes for other Cheeriodicals events during the very same month! Two Men and a Truck have played a critical role in helping Cheeriodicals become the company we are today and we are happy to work with Two Men teams all over the country to deliver cheer to hospitalized Veterans.
