How Pfizer & Cheeriodicals Surpassed 10,000 Cheers Together

In the world of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) partnerships, few collaborations shine as brightly as the one between Pfizer and Cheeriodicals. Spanning more than eight years, this enduring partnership recently reached a major milestone — 50 Cheeriodicals team building events and over 10,000 care packages delivered to hospitals and Veterans’ facilities nationwide.

Since their first collaboration in 2017, Pfizer employees have assembled and delivered Cheeriodicals care packages to hospitals such as Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone, Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital, Manhattan Veterans Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Indianapolis, and the Orlando VA Medical Center. Each delivery has strengthened Pfizer’s culture of service, turning traditional team-building exercises into meaningful acts of compassion.

Looking Back on 10,000+ Cheeriodicals

What does “10,000 Cheeriodicals” truly represent? It’s far more than a number — it’s a reflection of Pfizer’s people-powered compassion.

Each Cheeriodical brings a smile to a hospitalized child, a moment of relief for a parent, or a boost of morale for healthcare staff working tirelessly. Behind every care package is a team-building experience that unites Pfizer employees around a shared purpose: spreading joy in the communities where they live and work.

This journey began in April 2017, when Cheeriodicals hosted its first Pfizer event in New York City. At that inaugural session, Pfizer employees packed 200 Cheeriodical boxes for pediatric patients at Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital — a gesture that marked the start of a long-standing collaboration.

Over the years, Pfizer teams have returned to hospitals across the U.S., deepening relationships and reinforcing the company’s dedication to corporate citizenship.

A Standout Moment: “175 Days of Good”

 

Among the many unforgettable events, one stands out — Pfizer’s “175 Days of Good” initiative in July 2024.

During this large-scale volunteer effort, 200 Pfizer employees came together to assemble 500 Cheeriodicals boxes, including children’s packages, teen boxes, and Ronald McDonald House family bags.

But the impact didn’t stop at the packing tables. Cheeriodicals led a group of Pfizer employees to personally deliver these packages to Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital, Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital, and Ronald McDonald House Charities of New York. Seeing their work directly touch lives was the highlight of the day — an emotional and motivating reminder of the real difference their efforts make.

Behind the Scenes: The 50th Event Milestone

 

In May 2025, Cheeriodicals and Pfizer celebrated their 50th team-building event at Pfizer’s Groton, Connecticut campus.

More than 110 Pfizer Project Managers participated, packing 120 Cheeriodicals totes for hospitalized Veterans at the West Haven Veteran Medical Center. Together, they visited rooms, met Veterans, and delivered the totes personally — transforming corporate service into a heartfelt human connection.

Every handshake, every “thank you,” and every smile reflected what has made this partnership special from the start: Pfizer’s commitment to people — both inside and outside the company.
