Making a Difference, One Smile at a Time: Saint-Gobain North America & RMH of Baltimore
We were recently honored and thrilled when the global leaders at Saint-Gobain North America legal team approached Cheeriodicals with a mission: to create a powerful, hands-on team-building event that would directly benefit children and families staying at the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Baltimore, Maryland.
Before we dive into the give back event, let’s take a moment to explore the unique history of Saint-Gobain, one of the oldest companies in the world!
Who is Saint-Gobain? A Long History of Excellence
Saint-Gobain was founded in 1665 in France by King Louis XIV’s minister of finance, Jean-Baptiste Colbert. It was originally established as the Manufacture Royale des Glaces (Royal Mirror Glass Works) with the primary purpose of manufacturing mirrors, specifically for the Palace of Versailles’ famous Hall of Mirrors.
Today, Saint-Gobain is a multinational corporation operating in 80 countries, designing, manufacturing and distributing materials and services for the construction and industrial markets. Saint-Gobain is guided by its purpose, “ Making the World a Better Home.” Their commitment to innovation and sustainability is matched by their deep dedication to bettering their local and international communities, which is exactly what brought us together!
Coming together for Families in Baltimore
A team of Saint-Gobain attorneys, and paralegals and assistants from Saint-Gobain North America arrived at their scheduled meeting in Baltimore ready for business, but also brought with them a heartwarming experience, and a chance to connect with their coworkers on a deeper level. For part of this meeting, Cheeriodicals was invited to facilitate a team building experience where the Saint-Gobain team assembled 80 Ronald McDonald House Cheeriodicals care kits. These kits were then delivered with a small group of Saint-Gobain North America team members to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maryland located in Baltimore.
After spending time together, building care kits and connecting as a team over a great cause, it was time to deliver the kits! Nearly a dozen Saint-Gobain North America teammates joined our Cheeriodicals team and Two Men and a Truck later that day to make the delivery to the Ronald McDonald House in Baltimore. The local Two Men and a Truck crew was amazing to work with, and made sure all 80 kits made it to the house in perfect condition. Once at the house, Saint-Gobain and Cheeriodicals toured the facility and spent time with the Ronald McDonald House leadership learning about the families who utilize their services.
Deliveries and donations, like this one, allow community partners, like Ronald McDonald House Charities, to connect with corporate partners. These donations allow teams to come together and create meaningful memories, while also positively impacting members of their shared community.
Being able to partner with inspiring and unique companies, like Saint-Gobain, is what Cheeriodicals was designed to do. We are dedicated to creating meaningful team building experiences that spread cheer to your team and your community.
