In February of this year, in below zero temperatures, the SPS Commerce Sales Team came together to connect, share and just engage with each other.  It had been more than three years since this team had gathered together in-person due to the pandemic constraints, and reconnection time was just what the doctor ordered.  The cold temperatures were not holding this team back from getting together and making an impact along the way.

As part of their meeting, the SPS Commerce Sales Team reached out to Cheeriodicals to plan a give-back team building activity for their 450 employees. Wanting to make a huge impact on the Minneapolis area, the team assembled 450 Cheeriodicals (cheer-up gift boxes and bags) to donate to pediatric patients at Masonic Children’s Hospital and Veterans at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center.  SPS Commerce had worked with Cheeriodicals on similar team building projects in the past, but this one was particularly special because the team had the opportunity to impact so many people, as well as the fact that the team was once again able to meet safely as a large team.

Hospital representatives from both Masonic Children’s Hospital and Minneapolis VA Medical Center attended the event and expressed their gratitude to the team and emphasized the incredible impact the Cheeriodicals donations would make for their patients and their respective families.

As the teams packed the Cheeriodicals, we captured hundreds of the smiles while they worked.  Here are just a few of the many memorable photos:

We captured the perfect photo of their team after the completion of the team building activity with their entire team proudly holding up their completed Cheeriodicals.

After the oversized team photo was completed, Two Men and a Truck arrived just in time to pack all the 450 Cheeriodicals in the moving truck to deliver them to the two hospitals.  Two Men and a Truck donates their services to hospitals across the country who are receiving a Cheeriodicals delivery. You can tell that this hard working moving team wasn’t afraid of a little cold weather:

The first delivery was for our country’s Veterans at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center.

With COVID restrictions in place, we were not able to deliver in-person to the Veterans, but we were able to unload the Cheeriodicals duffle bags in the lobby and capture photos with the VA Center for Development and Civic Engagement team.

These VA Cheeriodicals were designed specifically for oncology patients.  In addition to a patriotic beverage tumbler, soft blanket, convenience items, activity books and socks, these Cheeriodicals also included thermometers and ginger chews.

The second delivery was for the pediatric patients at Masonic Children’s Hospital.  COVID constraints were also in effect at this hospital, so the delivery team dropped off the Big Green Boxes of Cheer in the lobby at the hospital.  We captured a quick photo of the delivery team and some of the hospital staff and yes, there were big smiles behind those masks.  The hospital’s Child Life team distributed the gift boxes to the patients throughout the day to hundreds of eagerly awaiting kids. Each box contained games, toys, puzzles, crafts, activity books and, of course, a Cheeriodicals green frog!

We are so appreciative of the SPS Commerce Sales Team for partnering with Cheeriodicals for the third time to bring our brand of team building magic to their team and especially to benefit hospitalized children and Veterans in need of a lift in spirits.

SPS Commerce is an amazing company and their commitment to giving-back is the perfect example of corporate social responsibility in action.
