Breast Cancer Awareness Month is October, which is a great time to take action and raise awareness.
In the United States, 1 in 8 women are diagnosed with breast cancer. That is 13% of the female population in the US. Men are also affected and it is estimated that 2,800 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year.
October is the designated month in which many people and organizations raise awareness for breast cancer. This is done by educating the community, raising money, encouraging friends and family to get screened, wearing pink, and several other ways. Another great way to support the breast cancer awareness effort is for corporations to come together to educate their employees about breast cancer and provide encouragement to those impacted by the disease. A Cheeriodicals event would be a great fit to achieve both of those goals!

How Our Give Back Events Work
Cheeriodicals brings corporate teams together to assemble comfort kits for men and women facing a cancer diagnosis – including those diagnosed with breast cancer. The goal behind each Cheeriodicals kit donated to an oncology patient is to show the patient that the community cares about them and what they are going through.
All of the supplies needed for oncology care bags would be shipped to the event location, where a Cheeriodicals Event Manager would then prepare the space for the corporate team building event. During the event, the team (25 to 2,000+ people) would participate in an uplifting and interactive event led by one of our Cheeriodicals event managers.
Cheeriodicals events often include guest speakers or personalized video messages from the recipient hospital, a video of a patient story, an interactive social wall, and much more!
The team members then assemble bags full of comfort and entertainment items for the patient in the hospital. Once the event is completed, the corporate team has the opportunity to join Cheeriodicals by taking a small group of employees to the recipient hospital for the delivery.
This is a very impactful activity for the corporate company to take part in, especially when they are able to see the smiles and joy these bags bring.
Cheeriodicals Oncology Kit – What is Included?

While in the hospital, patients tend to get very cold and uncomfortable. The Oncology kits include a fuzzy blanket and socks. These items are intended to keep the patient comfortable and warm. The socks are also non-slip so they are safe for the hospital floors.
2) Adult Coloring Books and Activity Books
The men and women who have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer are going through a stressful and difficult time. A great way for them to relieve some stress and relax is to color and read. The adult coloring books and activity books are the perfect tools to wind down the patient’s mind.
3) Games
A great way to stay busy in the hospital is to play games! In the Oncology kit there are games provided that the patient can play by themselves or with others. This is a great way to involve family or friends that may be visiting.
4) Convenience Kit
The convenience bag in the Cheeriodical is useful for the patients to have on hand while in the hospital. It is always good to have an extra toothbrush, toothpaste, chapstick, lotion, and more available when needed.
5) Tote Bag
All of the items listed above are packed into a durable tote bag that the patient can take with them to and from the hospital while they are receiving treatments. The bag can keep all of the comfort and entertainment items in one place too.

This handwritten note is one of the most special parts of the activity as the participant has the opportunity to use their own words to brighten somebody’s day.
Participants write heartfelt and inspiring messages to the patients that will be receiving their Cheeriodicals care bag. These are included in every kit and can be branded with your company’s logo.
Once the event is completed, a small group from your team would have the opportunity to attend the delivery of the Oncology Cheeriodicals kits to the hospital. In many situations, your team would be able to hand deliver the bags to the patients.
